Microsoft hosts CISO Executive Summit
Microsoft hosted the second edition its CISO Executive Series to support chief information security officers as they face the constantly changing threat landscape. This was part of Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to intelligent cyber defense in the Arab Gulf region.
The event, titled “A Hacker’s Guide to Security Strategy”, this year was held at Burj Al Arab in Dubai. It allowed security professionals to network with their peers and hear from a renowned cybersecurity specialist about current and upcoming threats.
“Most organizations know what cyber-attackers will be after they have breached their corporate perimeter.” “This means you know where to concentrate your efforts. This is the beginning of an in-house security strategy that is formalized and coherent. Organisations should be well-equipped to fight cyber-criminals with the help of the intelligent cloud, and the expertise of White Hat experts such as those who spoke today.
Microsoft is a trusted cloud provider that can connect your organization to industry-leading, AI driven security measures that will allow you to sleep better at night. He said that Microsoft invests US$ 1 Billion annually in cyber security to ensure that customers have peace of mind that the Microsoft cloud is safe.
Paula Januszkiewicz (CEO and Founder of CQURE) shared her insights and an outside-in view of securing a company at the CISO Executive forum. Januszkiewicz also highlighted the importance of continuing to train security professionals to meet the changing demands of the digital age. According to industry statistics, 6 million security professionals will be needed by 2019, but only 4 to 5 millions of them will have the necessary qualifications. It is therefore important to reduce this gap by increasing the level of education,” she said.
The Microsoft CISO executive forum ended with key takeaways for all perspectives of cyber-security. It proved to be a strong platform where security professionals from the UAE could network with peers and engage in discussions with subject matter experts.
