People of Zero To Engineer
Robert was faced with a problem.
He had too many certifications, but not enough experience to support them all. How could he get the relevant experience and prove he was more that just a book-smart person? Is there anything like this? Robert began to wonder about his future.
Then he saw an advertisement for our Cyber Security Training — a metaphorical lightbulb lit up and he was on his way.
Robert loved the hybrid nature of NexGenT, which is both online and flexible while still providing a schedule and structure — and it fit perfectly into his plan.
Robert has been passionately involved in computers since elementary school. Robert spent his entire life learning about hardware and software. He was 18 when he had built his own personal computer and was ready for more technical fields.
Now, a recruiter might ask him about his experience. He can answer “400 hours of labs breaking in multiple machines” and he knows that each of those experiences helped him become the Network Engineer he is today.
Robert is hard at work, testing equipment and putting out fires. He applies the Cyber Security program knowledge every day.
“I didn’t believe I would get the job because of my lack of experience.”
His experience with NexGenT, his certifications and dedication earned him the position and he’s eager to continue to grow. Robert says, “Ensure you back up your certifications with real-world experience.”
Robert was familiar with NexGenT tools and systems, but had never used them. He graduated with a good knowledge of the tools he would be using every day.
He continued, “It’s always more complex than the book makes is sound.” There is no substitute for getting dirty and diving in headfirst.
“Thanks to NexGenT I have the knowledge to back my security plus certification.”
